Mancini documentary opens to raves

It had all the feel of a Hollywood premier - a red carpet, glitz, glamour and celebrities.
And, it was at the new Landmark Cinema 8 in West Kelowna for the Canadian premier of 'The Good Son.'
A sold out house of nearly three hundred packed into the theatre Saturday. They were not disappointed.
The documentary, chronicling the life of legendary Youngstown, Ohio boxer Ray 'Boom Boom Mancini met everyone's expectations and more.

JESSE JAMES MILLER, DIRECTOR
Jesse is a multi-award winning writer/director who recently released two feature films, BECOMING REDWOOD which has picked up multiple film festival awards and accolades (Gala Opening Film - EIFF, Jury Prize for Best Canadian Film - EIFF, Most Popular Canadian Film - VIFF) and the award winning Feature Documentary THE GOOD SON “The life of Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini (Best Feature Film Shadow Box, 2012 Hampton's International Film Festival, Philadelphia Film Festival). Jesse also Produced, Wrote and Directed the award winning documentary film MY AMERICAN EXODUS about how his parents left America for Canada during the Vietnam War (Leo Award for Best Screenplay, VIFF, OIFF, DOC CITY DOCFEST) and was nominated as Best Director for the critically acclaimed Feature Documentary UGANDA RISING (6 Leo Award Nominations - Discovery Times). Jesse also helmed the feature film THE SEAMSTRESS (Lance Hendriksen), directed the pilot presentation piece CAPTAIN STARSHIP (Paul McGillion) and created the popular ROOTS OF FIGHT short documentary series for LANCASTER.
Adam Scorgie, Co-Producer
Adam Scorgie is a B.C. born producer who has produced and co-produced numerous award winning feature documentary projects. Scorgie's career in the entertainment business began in New York City where he spent four years working and studying in the film industry. Having graduated from the three year program at the renowned William Esper Studios in Manhattan, Adam was continually working on various T.V. and film projects such as Whoopi, All My Children, The Guiding Light, and As the World Turns.
Upon returning to his hometown of Kelowna, B.C., Scorgie set out to Executive Produce and co-create his first feature documentary, "The Union: The Business Behind Getting High". He and the team exceeded all expectations with "The Union" being selected to 33 international film festivals, where it won several best feature documentary awards, received distribution in numerous countries and is currently the highest ranked Canadian documentary by popular vote on IMDB.
Adam recently finished up production on the highly anticipated feature documentary "The Good Son" and "I AM BRUCE LEE" films which includes the likes of Dana White, Kobe Bryant, Jon "Bones" Jones, Mickey Rourke, Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini and Ed O'neill. Having spent the last two years developing the feature documentaries "Ice Guardians", "The Culture High", and "The Great One Scorgie is excited to begin on what is set to be three of his dream projects.
